Best beaches in Nice: Sky, sun and beaches

In Nice, with its incomparable sunshine, you can enjoy the beautiful sea, the splendid sky and sunshine, and above all, the pleasures of the beaches. Enjoy the most intense experiences on the Côte d’Azur.

Nice offers the largest number of beaches on the Côte d’Azur. With nearly 8 km of beaches, you’ll be spoilt for choice. And it’s up to you to choose the bathing waters that suit your comfort, your desires and your expectations. Most of Nice’s beaches stretch along the Promenade des Anglais. And also along Vieux-Nice. To the east of Nice, you’ll also find a few places to swim.

Note: the beach strip is divided into several sectors, with alternating public and private beaches.

Galets gris sur une plageThe distinctive feature of Nice’s beaches, which are much sought-after by tourists for their originality, is that they are covered with coarse pebbles. There are, however, a few areas with coarse sand or gravel. Other beaches are made up of large boulders or platforms with ladders down to the sea. Beware: in rough seas, this type of beach can be very dangerous.

Nice’s 8 km of beaches are mostly public and free. You can go for a swim. You can also wear or rent a chaise-longue. It’s up to you. And your budget too. However, these beaches only include basic facilities (toilets, showers). But it turns out that public beaches, despite their lack of certain facilities, such as wardrobes, sports facilities and the like, represent an opportune solution for tourists on a budget. And like private beaches, they offer bathers a pleasant place to bathe and a great moment of relaxation facing the sea.
